I have just purchased my new Peugeot 208 today and the salesman who helped with my purchase was Dominic Corkett. I couldn't of ask for a better service from Billy Scott at toomey Peugeot. We came to toomey Peugeot southend at the end of January knowing we wanted the 3008. Purchased a 2021 Peugeot 5008 from Toomeys 2 weeks ago. From then, we’ve had nothing short of issues.
1. We buy the car, being told we had the deal of the century, only to look on Autotrader two days later to see our exact vehicle advertised for £1000 less than the original asking price and £600 less than the price we had agreed.
2. Upon picking up the vehicle, several issues were noted. There was damage to the tailgate that was not there upon our original viewing, the car was not clean inside and there was a few internal issues integral to the function of the car that needed to be fixed. Supergaurd also did not seem to of been applied to the vehicle even though was promised.
3. Upon bringing the car back for the above works to be done, we were given a courtesy car, only to be told a few hours later that I could not drive the courtesy car due to being under 25, so we took that car back and got another car, a 208- bearing in mind this is the smallest vehicle in their fleet, and we had just purchased the biggest.
4. Communication has been abysmal from the sales executive we dealt with throughout.
5. The above point was confirmed when we turned up today to collect the vehicle to find that the tailgate damage had not been fixed and that another part of the tailgate had been stuck on with glue, that had dripped all down the back of the vehicle- to the point we have taken it to repairs centres near us who have said it is shocking work. The part had also not been replaced but stuck back on poorly. Another issue, integral to the functioning of the rear seats also not been fixed- because it would mean the seatwould have to be taken outto repair (otherwise known as, we cannot be bothered). None of the above was communicated to us before turning up to pick up the vehicle today, which was extremely upsetting and left us feeling totally deflated and stressed at the situation.
We are now having to review our options between returning the vehicle under our 30 day guarantee, contacting trading standards and getting quotes for the work to pass on to Toomeys- to evidence that it absolutely can, and should be done!

This is the second time in five years we have bought from Toomey Peugeot Basildon. On both times we have bought cars through David Clamp, we have received excellent customer care from David when we bough a 3008 back in 2019 which was the reason we came back this year and particularly to David. David is extremely helpful and understands the Peugeot range ( we ask numerous questions). Nothing is too much trouble.
