Motability – How does the scheme work?

When you book an appointment with a Motability expert at one of our Toomey dealerships, we will guide you through the process from start to finish, helping you to make the right decision about which car to choose.

Many of the cars that we offer on the Motability Scheme are available with no advance payment required, which means all you have to do is pay the monthly rental cost using your eligible mobility benefits. Other higher-specification models may require an advance deposit amount, and you can view all of the models on offer at any of our showrooms.

When you have made a final decision we will take care of the order process for you through the online system. You will receive an acceptance letter through the post that will contain your Personal Identification Number, and you need to bring this with you when you collect your vehicle. Depending on any adaptations required and how long these will take to fit, you can expect your car to arrive within a couple of weeks. We will keep you updated on its progress and as soon as it arrives you can come and collect it. It will be yours to keep for three years and once the contract is over you can upgrade to a new model.
