For those who are not familiar with Motability, this is a system that has been set up and developed to help the less-able to own and pay for a car with ease. Using the Motability car and scooter scheme will give you access to a truly all-inclusive lease, as well as a great selection of cars, scooters and wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs).
The benefits of the Motability scheme are numerous, but here are just a few of the biggest and best reasons to consider signing up to take advantage of Motability.
The range of vehicles available through Motability is truly impressive, with a car selection that is guaranteed to suit any needs. Whether you need a 4x4, an SUV or a family-friendly car, you can find the right car you want with Motability. Of course, you don't have to choose a car that is purely functional; in fact you can also pick from a selection of coupés and roadsters too, if you have a need for speed.
Once you've chosen your vehicle, you can select any adaptations which may be necessary to make sure that the car suits your individual needs. You should note however that not all adaptations are suitable for every car, and you may need to change your vehicle preference in order to implement some customisation options. If you are unsure about your vehicle or the adaptations needed, then you can speak to an adaptations installer quickly and easily.
Joining the Motability scheme gives you access to a thorough and comprehensive car insurance package. Your insurance will cover accidental damage, as well as fire or theft damage, repairs to the glass, replacement locks for stolen keys and the in-car equipment that comes supplied with the car. What's more, your insurance will cover any further adaptations and modifications to the vehicle, and is inclusive of travel to and from work and charitable events.
As well as comprehensive car insurance, joining Motability gives you the benefit of personal accident cover. Cover is provided up to a limit of £5,000 per person for the driver and passengers in the event of serious injury (such as the loss of a limb of decreased sensory functions) or death. Hopefully you will never need it, but it's nice to know that it's there in the event of an accident or collision.
Part of the Motability deal is that your car or WAV is covered for breakdown assistance for the duration of the lease. Provided by RAC, Motability Assist will make sure that your car is taken to the nearest garage for repairs, but will also take up to eight people to their original destination or other location. What's more, a replacement car can be provided, and overnight accommodation or travel costs of up to £100 per person (or £300 per party) will be paid, to make sure you're made comfortable if you can't get to where you were going.
Those are some of the main benefits to joining the Motability scheme, but there are even more reasons to consider it if you haven't made up your mind already:
Firstly, you get a mileage allowance of 60,000 miles over three years for your Motability car, and over five years if you choose a WAV.
You can name up to two drivers.
The tyre and windscreen repair and replacement services mean that you never have to worry about being stuck on the side of the road for long.
MOTs and road tax are included in the lease.
And, if all of that isn't enough, you can also access support when you need it, thanks to our award-winning, UK-based customer services team.
