Dacia's aim with the Logan MCV is to create an affordable people carrier with the fittings and functions of vehicles at the high end of the price spectrum. The result is a family-friendly, budget-friendly vehicle that is suitable for all occasions. The Logan MCV has ample interior space for five adults as well as best-in-class boot capacity and unrivalled versatility, emphatically justifying the 'Maximum Capacity Vehicle' label. Three levels of trim are available in the range: the Access, the Ambience, and the Lauréate.
The outer bodywork of the Logan MCV is available in six different hues including Cinder Red, Pearl Black, Sargasso Blue and Stone. Steel and alloy wheels are available in 15" versions (depending on the trim), and the windows are tinted on all models.
The exterior design gives a sleek and sophisticated look, but the interior of the Logan MCV is where the vehicle's ultimate purpose as a pragmatic people carrier really shines through. Initially, the boot space can hold 573 litres; with the rear seats folded down, this increases to an impressive 1,518 litres. The forward-folding front passenger seat also allows for maximum flexibility regarding long items that may need to be transported. Atmospheric comfort comes from the four-speed heating and ventilation system, and multimedia systems are available as options. This includes the radio with CD player, including MP3 CD reader, with fingertip controls on the steering wheel and USB connection for MP3 players.
Two 0.9 litre or 1.2 litre petrol engines offering 75hp or 90hp, as well as an economical 1.5 litre 90hp diesel, are available with the Logan MCV . The larger petrol unit delivers 0-62mph acceleration in 11.1 seconds (more than adequate for getting up to speed when joining a main road or motorway), whilst the diesel offers impressively low combined fuel consumption of 74.3mpg, and carbon emissions of 99g/km.
Driver and front passenger seat airbags are included for safety, with the latter including a deactivation function if required. There are ISOFIX points for child safety seats in both outer rear seats, and visual and audible warnings if the seatbelts are not fastened. Drive safety assistant systems include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), as well as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction control.
