Described by Citroën as “the smallest biggest van", the Citroën Nemo combines a number of apparently contradictory qualities. Its compact size hides a spacious interior, and it blends the robust character of a big van with the agility of a small city car. Its power output is all the more impressive compared to its low carbon emissions, and the overall design of the vehicle is intended to bring pleasure into the experience of the van's work capacity. As the newest van in Citroën's commercial vehicle range, the Nemo is a vehicle that brings a definite sense of reliability to the road.
Citroën has designed its line of commercial vehicles to have form as well as function, and the Nemo is no exception to this. The outer lines of the vehicle are smooth and professional, creating the overall impression of a streamlined and powerful work vehicle. Access to the interior is provided by the sliding side loading doors, and rear parking sensors are included to make every parking space a possibility. A range of body colours is also available as vehicle customisation, including Speed Red, Polar White, Pacific Blue and Graphito Grey.
The Nemo has a load length of 1.52 meters, and is capable of carrying a payload of up to 660kg. As well as the sliding side doors, the Nemo has a low loading point at the rear, to ease the process of filling the interior capacity. Cargo can be kept secure with the number of robust built-in anchorage points that have been installed throughout the interior. Although the Nemo's compact dimensions give it a turning circle of just 9.95 metres, it can carry 2.8 cubic metres of cargo with the front seat folded forward.
The cabin has also been created as a comfortable workspace. There is the option of driver's seat adjustment, as well as lumbar support and an armrest. The glove box has been given enough space to store important items such as paperwork or a laptop, and Bluetooth® hands-free functionality is available to enable safe telephony from within. Also included is the MP3-compatible audio system and the option for Citroën's Connecting Box, which gives USB compatibility.
The Nemo's power springs from a 1.2 litre, 75hp diesel engine, which comes equipped with a choice of either manual or ETG transmissions. When fitted with Stop/Start technology, it can achieve combined fuel consumption of 68.9mpg and CO2 emissions of jusy 109g/km - good news for fleet operators looking to cut down Vehicle Excise Duty and Benefit-in-Kind tax bills. Installed safety features include a driver's airbag, front seatbelt pre-tensioners with force-limiters, and a transponder immobiliser. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) comes as standard, as does the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
